Determine What Meets Your Needs
At Chalfant we start with your application criteria - The dimensional data of your facility that we require can be found on the back of any of our submittal literature.

Which Style Seal, Shelter or Hybrid Unit?
The goal of your application may emphasize one feature more so than the others. Below is a brief guideline summary for product application.

Compression Seals
Provide tightest seal at the dock while limiting full access to the back of the trailer. Compression Seals require building to withstand 35 to 90 lbs of pressure per foot. Most economical investment choice.
>>Standard Seal – Ideal door size 8’ x 8’ to 9’ x9’. Seal past bumper 4” – 6”
>>Curtain Seal – Ideal door size 8’ x 9’ to 9’ x 10’. Seal past bumper 4” – 6”
>>Adjustable Seal - Ideal door size 8’ x 9’ to 9’ x 10’. Seal past bumper 4” – 6”

Enveloping Seals
Provide an efficient seal at the dock, full access to the back of the trailer, and your building need withstand very minimal pressure. Moderate investment choice.
>>Dock Shelter – Idea door size up to 12’ x 12’. Seal past bumper min. 12”
>>Flex Shelter – Idea door size up to 12’ x 12’. Seal past bumper min. 12”
>>Rail Shelter – Idea door size up to 15’ x 15’. Seal projection as much as 84”

Hybrid Units
Provide a combination of features found in our compression seals and enveloping seals, giving them capabilities unique to these units. Moderate investment choice.
>>”L” Pad – Ideal door size 8’ x 8’ to 10’ x 10’. Seal past bumper 10” – 12”
>>Soft Shelter – Ideal door size up to 12’ x 12’. Seal past bumper 12” – 14”

Select Contact Wearface
The proper contact wearfacing on the front of your dock seal will provide maximum wear resistance and longer life. Chalfant offers five (5) optional wearfaces as shown in Contact Wearfaces link.
